A traditional approach at the heart of contemporary issues
The Universal Grand Lodge is the oldest Masonic obedience. It brings together men of all backgrounds, united by the same quest for meaning and personal improvement.
What is Freemasonry?
An initiatory brotherhood
Freemasonry is an initiatory brotherhood founded on the values of wisdom, fraternity, tolerance and self-improvement. It brings together men and women of good will who wish to become better people and contribute positively to society.
Free spirituality
Its spirituality does not consist of imposing a religion. It invites each person to reflect on themselves, to develop their moral qualities, to better understand their place in the world and to seek truth through inner work.
The rough ashlar
In Freemasonry, man is compared to a rough stone that he must shape and polish throughout his life. This means correcting his faults, strengthening his qualities, acquiring self-mastery and living according to principles of honor, respect and responsibility.
European values
This approach aligns with the great European humanist values: respect for human dignity, solidarity, the given word, the transmission of knowledge and the elevation of the spirit. Freemasonry is not a promise of material wealth, but a path of knowledge, discipline and personal fulfillment.
