The Very Respectable Grand Master of the Universal Grand Lodge, accompanied by a delegation of high dignitaries, made an official visit to London from June 10 to 14, marking an important step in strengthening fraternal relations between our obedience and the regular Grand Lodges of the United Kingdom.
A Historic Visit
This visit is part of the continuity of the policy of openness and inter-obedience dialogue led by the Universal Grand Lodge. It allowed meetings with representatives of the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE), as well as several other regular British obediences.
The exchanges focused on themes dear to our tradition: the preservation of Landmarks, the transmission of rites, and the place of Freemasonry in contemporary societies.
Fraternal Meetings
The program of this visit included:
- Audience with the Grand Master of the UGLE
- Visit to Freemasons' Hall, the historic headquarters of British Freemasonry
- Joint fraternal meeting with English Brothers
- Conference on "Masonic values facing the challenges of the 21st century"
- Official dinner in the presence of British Masonic authorities
Towards New Cooperations
Following these meetings, several cooperation agreements were considered, including:
- Cultural exchanges between Masonic libraries
- Program for mutual recognition of visits
- Joint organization of colloquia on Masonic history
"This visit to London marks the beginning of a new era of fraternal cooperation between our two Masonic traditions. We are honored by the warm welcome we received."
The delegation of the Universal Grand Lodge was composed of the Grand Master, the Grand Orator, the Grand Master of Ceremonies, and several members of the Council of the Order.
This journey is part of a series of international visits planned this year, including scheduled visits to West Africa and North America.
